Things are happening for me. Really good things! Ready, drum roll please . . . I was finally able to speak with a pediatrician! For the past few months, I have only been able to talk to receptionists and assistants but now I was able to talk to a real person and not be told they will send a message or they are busy at the moment. Her name is Dr. Stokes. Not only was she very informative, but she also has an interesting backstory. She has been through so much in her life, diving in from one profession to another, but now she is grateful and happy for the career she has now. She is also a huge feminist, which I am very thankful for. As a huge feminist myself, I am really thankful to talk to someone who shares the same beliefs as I do when it comes to women in the medical field. As Winter Break is fast approaching, there are still a few things I need to do. For one, Mr. Pirtle has asked me to email professors at colleges that I am interested in attending. He believes this will be very helpful in finding a mentorship near me. I also need to work on my Original Work Project, so I can determine how I will make it work, especially due to the pandemic. I am so thankful for the next two weeks of the break because it will really give me time to think and work.
