It’s All In My Head

Wow! The hunt for a mentor is never easy. So far, I’ve made a list of 30 different types of physicians, ranging from pediatricians, neurologists, psychologists, and surgeons. I’m not going to lie, the thought of picking up the phone and dialing the number of a random person makes my stomach fill with butterflies. I have practiced and I know what to say, but I still can't get over the fact what these people may think of me. I know I shouldn't care how people perceive because I know who I am, but I can’t stop thinking about possible rejections I may encounter. If I stay positive and keep my head up, hopefully, I will be able to find the right mentor for me out there. My goal this week is to at least make one call. One call so I can start getting the experience for the many I will be speaking to in the coming weeks. I think once I make one, I will be able to get a better understanding, such as things today and not say or how to fix my tone of voice. This is all in my head for now but the mind can be your most powerful asset, but your greatest enemy.
